Alquimia de la luz y lo invisible.
Vincent Duval, alias Gild, es un artista visual nacido en 1974 y establecido en Borgoña-Francia. Pintor y escultor autodidacta, su obra se inscribe en las corrientes del expresionismo abstracto y del arte informal, dando forma a un universo en el que se encuentran la materia, el azar y la espiritualidad.
Mis pinturas están compuestas por capas de materia: mortero mezclado con pigmentos, pintura al óleo y resina.
Mis corrientes artísticas son el expresionismo abstracto y el arte informal. Mis pautas son enfatizar la espiritualidad, el azar, lo inesperado, la pérdida de control y el juego de la luz. Si fuera el precursor de un nuevo movimiento artístico, sería “ULTRABRILLANCE”, que llevo desarrollando y defendiendo varios años. Concebir el color como una fuente de luz pura es también una de mis búsquedas artísticas. Para mí, este concepto trasciende el acto de pintar o crear y es una forma de revelar el mundo en toda su sutileza y poder.
ULTRABRILLANCE, el concepto central de mi obra, es una exploración plástica y filosófica de nuestras sociedades occidentales contemporáneas, que han alcanzado un estadio de máximo esplendor, donde la abundancia y la sofisticación rayan en el exceso. En mi obra, subrayo esta tensión entre esplendor y decadencia, entre apogeo y colapso inminente.
A través de la pintura y la escultura, utilizo materiales, texturas y reflejos que exacerban este brillo casi cegador, simbolizando una civilización en la cima de su desarrollo material. Pero detrás de esta luz deslumbrante, aparece una grieta: la de un mundo que, saturado de riqueza y progreso, corre el riesgo de ser consumido por su propia magnificencia.
Mi obra cuestiona la fragilidad de estas construcciones humanas, revelando los signos de un punto de inflexión inevitable. ULTRABRILLANCE se convierte así en un espejo de nuestro tiempo: fascinante, seductor, pero también peligrosamente inestable.
ULTRABRILLANCE no es solo una crítica a las sociedades occidentales en su apogeo; también revela una fractura más profunda: la ruptura entre el hombre y la naturaleza. Mis creaciones cuestionan esta desconexión gradual, esta pérdida del vínculo espiritual que una vez unió a la humanidad con el mundo natural.
En un mundo saturado de tecnología y artificio, donde el brillo del progreso enmascara el colapso subyacente, busco revivir esta conexión olvidada. Mis obras no son solo una reflexión sobre el exceso y la decadencia, sino también una invitación a reconectarnos con lo invisible, con esas fuerzas inmateriales que nos vinculan con la esencia de la vida.
Al revelar la ambivalencia de nuestros tiempos, entre el esplendor y la decadencia, el materialismo y la búsqueda espiritual, mi trabajo cuestiona nuestro futuro: ¿podemos recuperar el equilibrio antes de que ULTRABRILLANCE consuma todo a su paso?

If I were the precursor of a new artistic movement, it would be “ULTRABRILLANCE“, which I have been developing and defending for several years.
ULTRABRILLANCE, the central concept of my work, is a plastic and philosophical exploration of our contemporary Western societies, which have reached a stage of maximum brilliance, where abundance and sophistication verge on excess. In my work, I highlight this tension between splendor and decadence, between apogee and imminent collapse.
Through painting and sculpture, I use materials, textures and reflections that exacerbate this almost blinding brilliance, symbolizing a civilization at the peak of its material development. But behind this dazzling light, a crack appears: that of a world that, saturated with wealth and progress, risks being consumed by its own magnificence.
My work questions the fragility of these human constructions, revealing the signs of an inevitable tipping point. ULTRABRILLANCE thus becomes a mirror of our times: fascinating, seductive, but also perilously unstable.
ULTRABRILLANCE is not just a critique of Western societies at their peak; it also reveals a deeper fracture: the break between man and nature. My creations question this gradual disconnection, this loss of the spiritual link that once united mankind with the natural world. In a world saturated with technology and artifice, where the glitter of progress masks the underlying collapse, I seek to revive this forgotten connection. My works are not only a reflection on excess and decadence, but also an invitation to reconnect with the invisible, with those immaterial forces that link us to the essence of life.
By revealing the ambivalence of our times – between splendor and decline, materialism and spiritual quest – my work questions our future: can we regain balance before ULTRABRILLANCE consumes everything in its path?
For me, this concept transcends the act of painting or creating, and is a way of revealing the world in all its subtlety and power.
